An invitation to join our informative and exciting private shore excursion from Alexandria Port to Cairo, the ancient capital city of Egypt. Explore the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus and a visit to the Great Sphinx, as part of your full day guided trip to Cairo. Taste the local Egyptian Cuisine from a local restaurant whilst shopping like a local at Cairo’s old Bazaar Khan El Khalili. Explore the rich history and heritage by a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to rare collections of art and treasures from ancient Egyptian History.
Met by our Representative from Alexandria Port by the exit door holding our company logo and your names. You will be transported to Cairo in one of our air conditioned vehicles. Your journey will take approximately 3 hours to Cairo with lovely scenery of the landscape whilst travelling. You will be given a rest stop in around half way through your journey if you need it.
On arrival in Cairo you will catch the view of the famous three gigantic Pyramids of Giza known as Khufu or Cheops, Khafre or Chephren, and Menkaure or Mycerinus named after the kings for whom they were built. The Pyramids of Giza are the oldest of all the seven wonders of ancient world.
Included is a visit to the Great Sphinx, a colossal limestone statue with the head of a pharaoh and body of a lion. The 4500-year-old statue sits guarding the Great Pyramid in Giza. The stunning structure Measures 240 feet (73 meters) long and 66 feet (20 meters) high and is considered to be one of the greatest monuments in the world. Next, your guide will take you to the valley Temple which belonged to the Pyramid of Chephren. From here you will be taken for a lunch stop at a local restaurant before heading to the Egyptian Museum.
No tour of Egypt is complete without visiting the enormous and impressive Egyptian Museum housing an incredible 120,000 artefacts dating back through ancient Egyptian monarchy. It showcases Mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery, all belonging to the ancient Civilization of Egypt including the great treasures of Tutankhmun and his unique golden mask.
Your last stop on this historical view of Cairo will be the old Bazaar of ‘Khan El Khalili’ situated in the old part of Cairo. The Bazaar district is one of the main attractions in Cairo for visitors looking to buy beautiful and hand crafted Egyptian gifts for themselves and families back home. It is also home to several many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved within the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs. Popular items to buy from Khan Khalili bazar are statuettes, spices, souvenirs, silver jewellery, t-shirts, galabayas, belly dancing costumes and more. After the Bazaar visit, you will be transferred back to Alexandria Port.
