Join our Full Day Shore Excursion to Explore Cairo, a bustling and fascinating city with ancient history and the scenic Nile River flowing through. You will discover ruins and heritage of the oldest civilization on earth., admire the example of ancient Egypt’s architectural marvels, and home to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The 3 Great Pyramid of Giza with Pyramid of Cheops being the largest Pyramid in the world. A visit to the other two pyramids on the Giza Plateau Pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos will be included.
Overlooking the Great Pyramids is the greatest monument ever built- Great Sphinx of Giza, a colossal marvel with the body of a lion and head of the Pharaoh Khafre.
You will have the opportunity to visit the Step Pyramid complex in at Saqqara, situated at the old City of Memphis and the legacy of Egypt’s oldest pyramid in Egypt built for the ambitious King Djoser- the first king of the Third Dynasty of Egypt.
Concluding the tour will be a visit to the Papyrus museum for the opportunity to buy some unique hand made traditional papyrus as a memorable souvenir of your trip to Cairo, Egypt.
You will be met by our Guide who will pick you up from Port Said Port by the cruise exit door, holding a sign with your names. After the meet and greet, you will be transferred to Cairo by an air-conditioned vehicle.
Your ancient Cairo tour begins with a visit to the famous Giza Plateau. Start exploring The 3 Great Pyramids of Giza (also known as Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops) the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. You will be then guided to the other two pyramids of Cheops (or Khufu), constructed c. 2580 – c. 2560 BC), along with the smaller Pyramid of Khafre (or Chephren).
A camel ride in the desert is a thrilling adventure whilst continuing along for your excursion down to the Valley Temple, built on the edge of the desert escarpment and was the place of reception for the royal body.
Next, you will visit the Great Sphinx- one of the greatest monuments ever built in the shape of a mythical creature with the head of Pharaoh and body of a lion.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant for tasty traditional cuisine and then escorted to Sakkara, the oldest and first pyramid ever built for the third dynasty's King Djoser and built by the Architect Imhotep around 2630 BC as a monument for his king. You will also get to visit one of the magnificent Mastabas (burial chamber) of either Ptah Hotep, Idut or Mereruca. After your tour, our guide will escort you back to the Port at Port Said with a short stop at a Papyrus Institute where you will have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs.
