Muscat and Nakhal City Tour: Muscat Shore Excursion
You Muscat city excursion will start with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. This is one of the largest mosques in the Middle East, and the grand mosque of Muscat is the only one which is open to non-Muslims and expatriate in Oman.

After the grand mosque visit, you will be guided to Nakhal via Seeb. Nakhal is an old Omani village. It lies at the foothills of the mountains near an abundant source of water, which is the source of water for vast date palm plantations. The main highlight of this excursion is the Nakhal Fort in Al Batinah Region the fort named after the Wilayah of Nakhal. Dating back to the pre-Islamic era in Oman, this is one of the most well-known forts in Oman. Built on the top of a large rock, the fort welcomes visitors looking to enjoy panoramic views of Nakhal village and the rare chance to discover the historic artefacts collection housed within the museum.

You can also enjoy the invigorating waters of Al Thawara Hot Springs. The oasis has been a famous landmark in the region and believed to have healing properties. Relax and rejuvenate in this hot spring before we head back to Muscat city.

On your way back to Muscat you will be given photo stop at the official residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, The Al Alam Palace. It is flanked on either side by the 16th century Portuguese built twin Jalali and Mirani Forts and You can admire the architecture from the yard and at the gates

You will be escorted to Muttrah Corniche from the Palace and you will travel through the old town, you will get to see some of the original merchant houses. Later visit Muttrah Souq, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Muscat and popular for shops selling Omani and Indian artefacts, antiques along with shops selling traditional textile, hardware and jewellery. The Souq still has chaotic traditional Arab market appeal under a modern setting.

stroll through the Souq before we head back to the port, and you may take a piece of Oman from the stores, you can buy Omani specialities like Frankincense, Omani daggers. After the city tour, you will be transferred back to the port.
