Your Cairo Pyramid excursion starts by visiting The world famous 3 Great Pyramid of Giza with the Pyramid of Cheops being the biggest Pyramid on the planet. The visit will include2 two other Pyramids on the Giza Plateau known as Chephren and Mykerinos. Appreciate and Learn the compositional importance and interesting history of these wonderful manmade structures. You will be intrigued by your visit to Unfurl the secret of The Great Sphinx of Giza. Visit the step Pyramid complex in at Saqqara built by the first king of the Third Dynasty of Egypt – Djoser which was the first known Pyramid too be built.
Our Representative will greet you for your pick up from Alexandria Port by the cruise exit door, holding a sign with your names. You will then be transported to Cairo which is approximately 3 hours by air-conditioned vehicle with a rest stop about halfway if needed.
On arrival in Cairo, your first visit on the tour will be at the Plateau of the 3 Great Pyramids of Giza to visit the Pyramids of Cheops , Chephren and Mykerinus. Fllowing this you will proceed on to visit the grand Great Sphinx with the head of a Pharaoh and a lion's body, dating from the times during the rule of Chephren.
From here, a visit to the Valley Temple, which belonged to the Pyramid of Chephren.
Your tour will continue with a drive to visit the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the world's oldest major stone structure built in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser. It is very different in design to the later Pyramids of Giza with a far more basis structure.
The half-day trip will conclude with Delicious lunch at a Authentic local restaurant in Cairo. After lunch, you will be transferred to your Cairo hotel overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel, then you will be met by your guide for a tour to the Salah El-Din Citadel. Perhaps the best landmark to medieval fighting inherent the last part of the 1100s by Salah al-Din, the originator of the Ayyubid administration. Next, you will be guided to Mohammed Ali Mosque-Alabaster Mosque the crown in the Salah el-Din Citadel. After lunch, you will head to one of the worlds largest and historical Museums in the city, the famous and massive Egyptian Museum featuring thousands of artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays a rare collection totalling 5000 years of art which is considered the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are presented, including an exhibit dedicated to Tutankhamun collection of treasure, gold and jewelry including the stunning precious gold mask of Tutankhamun which was enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before it had been discovered within the 1920s when his tomb was excavated.
Continue your trip to Islamic Cairo, where you will be given a one of a kind shopping experience at the old traditional Khan El Khalil Bazaar. Cairo’s old bazaar established in the 14th century. Browse the lovely stalls and shops with hand crafted souvenirs with gifts for family and friends. After the bazaar visit, you will be transferred back to your ship at Port Said.
