Day 01: Ancient Cairo Tour – Pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum
Our Tour guide will meet you and pick you up from Alexandria Port by the cruise exit door. After the meet and greet, you will be transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle to the victorious city Cairo. The three hours driver will end with a visit to the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. Then you will be guided to the Great Sphinx, a limestone statue of a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh. Next, you can visit the Valley Temple, which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren.
Your day trip will continue to the Egyptian Museum which houses the largest collection of more than 2,50,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts. The museum also features the famous Tutankhamun collection with its beautiful gold death mask and sarcophagus. A delicious lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own.
Or you may choose to book our optional dinner cruise for two hours on the Nile or Sound and Light show at Giza Pyramid. Overnight will be in Cairo Hotel.
Day 02: Alexandria Sightseeing Tour and Drop off
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel meet our guide who will be accompanying you to Alexandria City. Your Alexandria tour will start with a stop at Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa which dates to the early Roman period. Started in the 2nd century A.D, the place was used to intern the dead for 200 years. Influenced by Egyptian traditions, Greek and Roman style the catacomb is believed to be the visible evidence of an age when three cultures, three arts, and three religions co-existed on Egyptian Soil. Your trip will continue to Qayetbay citadel, located on the entrance to Alexandria's eastern harbor. The fortress was built in the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman Empire. You will also have the chance to explore the Alexandria library from inside. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant before we drop you off in the cruise terminal for your final departure.
