Meet the tour guide in the lobby when you finish breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus on the Plateau of the World's 3 Great Pyramids. It will begin with a visit to the Great Sphinx, which resembles a lion and its head, dating from Chephren's rule. The tour will also include visiting the Valley Temple, which used to belong to the Chephren Pyramid. Before having lunch, we will visit the Papyrus Institute to browse the lovely gifts of papyrus for gifts. We will have lunch at a local restaurant before proceeding to the Step Pyramids of Zoser.
A short drive will take us to the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the World's oldest central stone structure, built by King Djoser during the third dynasty (around 2630 BC). With a much simpler structure, it is very different from the later Pyramids of Giza. Our tour concludes with a visit to Memphis, Egypt's ancient and first capital. It is a fascinating historical landmark as the center of the union of upper and lower Egypt; it can be considered an open-air museum with a fascinating history.
