Escorted Muscat city tours start with visiting Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the largest mosque in Oman, and exploring its history. Roam around the Royal Opera House Muscat, the only opera in the Arabic world besides the ones in Beirut and Cairo, before visiting the Bait Al Zubair Museum. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the tour by visiting the Amouage factory. Discover the different incense and learn more about how one of the world’s most expensive perfumes is produced. From there, you leave for the Hajjar mountains. The next destination on tour is Birkat Al Mauz, a clay village that is one of the most famous and traditional villages in Oman, located on the way to Jebel Akhdar, an enchanting stop that will transport you back in time. Leave the mountain for a day excursion to the Nizwa area. First, you have some time to discover the traditional souq, divided into different sections like vegetables, dates, and souvenirs and famous for its silver jewelry and handmade khanjars (daggers). Proceed to the fort of the old capital and learn more about its exciting history. Leave Nizwa and continue to Bahla, a magical city with one of the four UNESCO world heritage sites in Oman, Bahla Fort, where you can walk around the old village and for a photo stop. The last sight of the day is Jabreen castle. Known as the most beautiful castle in Oman, you should not miss visiting the fort from the inside, listening to the story of its builder Immam Bil’arub bin Sultan and his tragic history. The overnight stay is in Jebel Akhdar.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin today’s tour with Al Hamra. Drive to Al Hamra for a panoramic view and visit the Bait AL Safa Museum. It is a Living history museum where locals demonstrate old Omani traditions in a restored mud-brick house. Drive towards the Misfat Al Abriyeen, a “most beautiful village in Oman,” is an excellent stop during this tour. It is a 500-year-old village on the slope of mountains and has Old houses of mud and palm frond roofs. Your journey will lead you to Wadi Bani Awf. An adventure drives through the mountains with many mesmerizing views and the beautiful village Bilad Said which invites you to walk around their green terrace fields.
